Bon Jovi Tribute Band To Kick Off Santa Clarita Concerts In The Park

Santa Clarita Concerts in the Park plans to welcome Bon Jovi tribute band, Wanted, who will take the stage this Saturday.

The Los Angeles-based tribute band was created with one purpose in mind: “to create a fun concert environment in the style, vibe and atmosphere of the spectacle that is known as a live Bon Jovi show,” according to the band.

The annual community event in Santa Clarita presents artists of all genres and will begin July 7 until Aug. 25 at Central Park in Saugus. Following in the tradition of years past, a concert is scheduled for every Saturday this summer at will begin at 7 p.m.

Returning artists and new acts will be featured during the free series of eight consecutive Saturday concerts.

On July 14, Kenny Metcalf as Elton & The Early Years Band is set to take the stage, performing covers of songs from the famous Elton John.

Green Today, a tribute to the punk band Green Day, is scheduled to perform on July 21, with an appreciation and enthusiasm towards Green Day as they perform over 20 hit songs, according to officials.

Next up is Hotel California, who are scheduled to perform on July 28. The Eagles tribute band not only covers songs from the famous rock band, but also the solo works of band members Glenn Frey, Joe Walsh and Don Henley.

The Concerts in the Park series continues into August with Matchbox Twenty Too, a San Diego-based Matchbox Twenty cover band that is known for powerful performances that recreate the signature sound and style of the titular band. They are scheduled to perform on Aug. 4.

The nation’s top Foo Fighters tribute band, Fooz Fighters, are scheduled to perform Aug. 11. Rock & Brews San Manuel Casino, which is owned by KISS band members Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley, recently wrote that, “Fooz Fighters are so similar to the actual band, you’ll be convinced you’re watching Dave Grohl and Company.”

The Pettybreakers are scheduled to return to the Concerts in the Park series on Aug. 18. The Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers tribute act is set to perform songs from the rock icon’s storied career.

The 2018 Concerts in the Park series is set to conclude with the award-winning Sublime tribute band, 40 oz. to Freedom.

All concerts are free and will have different food vendors for concertgoers, according to officials.
