Event officials from Oxnard’s 32nd annual California Strawberry Festival are seeking artists to participate in a competition to design the upcoming festival’s official poster.

The winner of the contest is set to be awarded with $2,000 and four VIP event passes, according to a news release.

The poster will be available for purchase on the weekend of the event and the design will also be featured on collectible t-shirts and promotional items.

The contest is open to “all who wish to share their artistic expression” and submissions will be reviewed by a judging panel looking for creativity and best use of theme while “paying tribute to Ventura County’s unique landscape,” according to the news release.

No more than two entry submissions will be accepted for each artist.

All original artwork must be 16.5 inches wide and 17 inches high, centered and mounted on a black matte board 18.5 inches wide and 19 inches high. The finished product must be reproduction compatible and void of any writing, including the date.

Entries, which are currently being accepted, can be mailed or hand-delivered to the festival office at 1661 Pacific Avenue #15 in Oxnard. The entry deadline is January 5, 2015.

Event officials plan to notify the winner within two weeks of the deadline. Posters will not be returned and must be picked up from the festival office beginning at the end of January.

The California Strawberry Festival is scheduled for May 16 and 17, 2015 at Strawberry Meadows of College Park in Oxnard.
