According to city officials, residents have expressed interest in the amphitheater for many years.

“The number one thing the arts community wanted was an amphitheater,” said former city councilman TimBen Boydston. “Our jobs as representatives have always been to listen to the people.”

Councilman Bob Kellar has also expressed his support for the idea.

“One thing that has been very clear to this council is the enthusiasm from the community for an amphitheater,” he said. “So I’m very comfortable in supporting this, because it’s been very clear that the community would very much like to see some form of an amphitheater here in Santa Clarita.”

Mayor Pro Tem Laurene Weste added that the amphitheater “is going to have to be very large… This community likes to get out and enjoy its arts and entertainment.”

On Wednesday, Feb. 21, the city will host a public meeting to present information on the subject, and to allow local residents the opportunity to lend their voices to help find a potential location for the venue, should one be built.

The meeting will be held at The Centre, which can be found at 20880 Centre Pointe Parkway, and will begin at 7 p.m. An RSVP is required to attend the meeting and can be found here.

  1. Within the cleanup site of , you could have entrances off soledad canyon road and golden valley road…

  2. Within the cleanup area of Bermite site. Entrances from Soledad and Golden Valley Road…

  3. I do not see the RSVP link.

  4. It would be neat if it were build in sight of the 14 or 5 freeways, That way travelers would want to see it. If it’s build, it should be large enough to hold big venues. Something like the Hollywood bowl. Nice if there were dressing rooms so plays can be seen.
