The main theme for this year will be “Define, Know and Brand Yourself,” containing discussions on topics such as “Protecting Who You Are through Social Media” and “Generation What? Defining Yourself Before Others Do.”

“Our goal is to empower teens to set their own image for themselves and give them the tools to be careful about how to market themselves,” said Cynthia Muir, community services supervisor for the city of Santa Clarita.

Muir stressed how important image is when applying for jobs, scholarships or higher education institutions.

The Southern California Teen Coalition invites teens of all ages and interests to join in their leadership breakout sessions.

In hopes of attracting a wider base, the coalition has announced Brian Crosby as this year’s keynote speaker.

Crosby is the creative representative for over 9,000 Marvel characters as they appear in multiple forms of media, including Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, traveling exhibits, shows, conventions and amusement venues around the world, according to city officials.

He will lead a workshop titled, “How to Draw Comics the Marvel Way.”

The artist intends to speak to teens on “how to define themselves and recognize their leadership  qualities in order to reach their full potential,” as stated in a city press release.

A continental breakfast will be served at 9:30 a.m., with discussions running from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The $15 admission cost also includes lunch and a Six Flags discount valid immediately after the summit until 8 p.m.
