“How I Did It: Artists Share Their Journey,” is presented as a part of the city of Santa Clarita’s New Heights Program, consisting of a series of free workshops, panel discussions and lectures.

The panel featured artists; JoAnn Peralta, Laura Wambsgans and Toni Haigh.

New Heights is specifically designed to acknowledge creative individuals and to help artists and performers learn different tools to help them succeed in their goals.

The goal of many artists is to find ways to make a successful living while simultaneously pursuing their passion.

JoAnn Peralta sold her original fine art for nine years at prestigious locations including “Masters of the American West Show,” and was featured in articles in magazines such as “Art of the West,” and “Western Art Collector.”

Laura Wambsgans a native Californian, who began landscape oil painting 16 years ago, studied with landscape painters like Scott Christensen.

Wambsgans has also had her work exhibited nationally in solo and in group exhibitions including the Riverside Museum and the Huntington Library.

Toni P. Haigh comes from a long family of horsemen and artists, most notably, her great-uncle Alfred Grenfell Haigh, who was one of the premier sporting and equine artists of his time.

Haigh was inspired by her uncles work from an early age, and now studies with known artists such as Mehl Lawson, Robert “Shoofly” Shufelt and Robert Abbett.

The New Height’s programs is set to take place on Thursday, April 26 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Each of these programs will take place at the MAIN, located at 24266 Main St. in Newhall.
