In honor of the PAC’s 10-year anniversary, a total of 27 acts were each given five minutes to entertain the audience with a variety of talents, including singing, dancing, comedy, beatboxing and more.

“Tonight is the night that the PAC opened in 2004, so we wanted to have a birthday party and do something that’s inclusive of the community,” said Evy Warshawski, executive director of the PAC. “We even have one woman who was in the play “Big River” that opened the PAC in 2004 on this very day… The synergy of connecting, collaborating, getting new people here and bringing new people– I love that.”

The evening’s youngest contestant was 10-year-old Noah Gabriel Garcia, who performed stand-up comedy.

At the end of the night, audience members voted for their favorite acts and the top three performers were awarded with gift bags, plaques and the titles of first, second and third place.

“If you’ve got five minutes, you’ve got to have the best five minutes ever because you only have one chance,” Warshawski said. “It’s good experience and it’s fun. I salute the 27 bravest people I know, because you put your soul and your guts on the line, and then it’s up to the audience to vote.”

In first place was Gilbert Fajardo, whose stand-up comedy act featured a variety of impersonations. It was the first time Fajardo, who works in law enforcement, has ever performed in front of an audience.

Vocalist Kaitlyn Francel won second place for her performance of Celine Dion’s “Titanic” classic, “My Heart Will Go On.”

Third place was awarded to vocalist Steven Gudino, who sang and played acoustic guitar.
