A Santa Clarita musician and singer, who sounds similar to Frank Sinatra, is auditioning for America’s Got Talent in February 2016 as he tries to make his way up the ladder to fame.

Juno Wilson, 22, has been performing in school bands since fifth grade and has played the saxophone for years, but never knew that he could sing.
“I’ve always listened to Sinatra,” said Wilson. “I used to sing in my car and I never really sang before in my life, it kind of just came out… I thought to myself, ‘do people usually sing like that.’”
Wilson will be auditioning for America’s Got Talent on Feb. 6, 2016 and he plans to sing “I’ve Got the World on a String” by Sinatra, he said.
Wilson hopes the America’s Got Talent judges will be “pleasantly surprised” by his singing.
“I decided I might as well (audition) to get my name out there,” Wilson said. “I think the best way to advance in my career is get my name out there.”
It is Wilson’s dream to bring back “swing” music to the mainstream audience, Wilson said on his website.
Wilson currently attends California Polytechnic University, Pomona where he began his studies as a mechanical engineer, but changed his major to music education.
Wilson said when he made the career change, his family supported him.
He tried singing with the Jazz Combo at Cal Poly Pomona “which worked out well.”
Wilson eventually made his way into the university’s main jazz band and has performed at the Monterey Next Generation Jazz Festival.
In 2014, Wilson released a three-song demo which included: I Get a Kick Out of You, In the Wee Small Hours of the Morning and Come Fly with Me.
Wilson is currently working on a Christmas album, à la Brian Setzer and Michael Bublé. Future plans for Wilson include exploring other genres, such as rap, and expanding his boundaries with experimental sounds, inspired by Bjork.
