Celebrities Selena Gomez and James Corden recently took a “detour” through Valencia on their way to work, stopping in at Six Flags Magic Mountain to film a portion of one of Corden’s infamous “Carpool Karaoke” videos on a rollercoaster.

After belting out “Same Old Love” together while Corden drives, Gomez suggests the pair “take a little detour” before heading to the set of “The Late Late Show with James Corden.”
“Why don’t you have some fun before you go to work?” Gomez says in the video, which went live on YouTube Monday and had already garnered more than 3 million views by Tuesday afternoon.
Gomez goes on to reassure a reluctant Corden, adding with a playful grin, “Just trust me a little bit… It’ll be fast.”

The video cuts to a shot of Gomez and Corden inching up a steep incline on board Goliath before the pair jumps into the chorus of “Come and Get It.”
Despite the fact that the 26-story coaster features one of the longest and fastest drops in the world — 255 feet taken at 85 mph — Gomez appears relaxed and somehow keeps singing during most of the ride.
Corden, on the other hand, can’t seem to find his voice at times as the coaster drops and swerves, managing to say, “That was no fun,” as Gomez cheers beside him when the ride comes to a stop.
The duo filmed the video back in April, and brought a crew with them to ride the rollercoaster as well, according to Sue Carpenter, a Six Flags spokesperson.
Staff from Six Flags’ Corporate Alliance department worked with Corden’s production company to make the shoot happen, which was wrapped up in just a few hours, according to Carpenter.
“All in all, they were here less than two hours,” she said. “They were in and out before the park opened.”
Carpenter continued that Six Flags officials often partner with movie studios and production companies on filming projects at the park, adding, “We just really, really enjoy working with them.”
Gomez is currently on the eight-month “Revival” world tour, with Santa Clarita native Steven J. Robinson acting as her drummer as the pop star travels to dozens of locations across the U.S. and internationally.
The tour hits three cities in Southern California next month, with Gomez set to perform at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on July 8.
