The upcoming shows, open to patrons of all ages, include “Harold and Maude,” “The Little Prince,” “Trojan Women” and “27 Ways to Screw Up Your College Interview.”

The Tavern Brawlers are set to kick off July, with “Harold and Maude,” which is about a discontented, perpetually suicidal young man who meets and becomes deeply attached to a free-spirited, elderly woman, in an adaptation of the 1971 cult film. Based on the darkly comedic, and ultimately life-affirming classic, the stage play of “Harold and Maude” is a nostalgic charmer that is intended to captivate old fans and new audiences alike.

“Harold and Maude,” is scheduled for July 20 and 21 at 8 p.m., and July 22 at 2 p.m.

Tickets are $20 for adults and $18 for students and seniors.

“The Little Prince,” presented by Santa Clarita Shakespeare Festival, which is a children’s play that tells the story of a world-weary and disenchanted Aviator who meets a mysterious, regal “little man.”

The “Little Prince” shares with the Aviator his adventures through the galaxy, the individuals he meets and the unique insights he gains from them, while contemplating the big issues of life. At the end of their time together the Aviator and the Little Prince each leave with a new understanding of how to laugh, cry and love again.

“Little Prince” is scheduled for July 28 at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., and July 29 at 2 p.m.

The cost of the event is $8 for children 10 and under, $10 for seniors and $12 for all others.

“The Trojan Women,” also presented by Santa Clarita Shakespeare Festival, is a contemporary spin on the ancient tale of war by Euripides. Originally produced in 415 B.C. about the aftermath of the Peloponnesian War, it is often considered a commentary on the effect of war and those who survive.

“The Trojan Women,” is scheduled for July 27 and 28 at 8 p.m., and July 29 at 5 p.m. Tickets are $18 for adults and $12 for students and seniors.

“27 Ways to Screw Up Your College Interview,” presented by LCAZ Productions, is about two college recruiters at a prestigious university needing to fill one last spot to keep their jobs, 27  eccentric, dimwitted and slightly-insane high school seniors are eager to come in for an interview.

What seems like a simple task turns into a nightmare as each applicant’s interview hilariously illustrates what not to do in a college interview.

“27 Ways to Screw Up Your College Interview,” is scheduled for August 10 at 7 p.m., August 11 at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. and August 12 at 1 p.m.

Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for children under 18.

The Main is located at 24266 Main Street, Newhall.

About Louie Diaz

Louie was born and raised in Santa Clarita. At the age of two Louie lost his vision due to a brain tumor. However, Louie doesn't let blindness stop him from doing what ever it is he wants to accomplish. Growing up some of his favorite hobbies were wood working, fishing and riding bikes. Louie graduated from College of the Canyon in December of 2017, with a Broadcast Journalism degree. Growing up Louie has always wanted to be a fire fighter or a police officer, but because of his blindness Louie knew that wouldn't work. Louie has always loved listening to police and fire radio traffic, using a scanner, and he figured if he was going to listen to the scanner so much, he should do something with it.
