The City of Santa Clarita is inviting residents to a showing of “The Red Guitar,” written and performed by Bruce Forman.

“The Red Guitar” is a story told through jazz, focusing on the formation and nature of an individual’s passions and how far some people are willing to go to obtain and serve their passion.

Throughout the performance, Foreman will showcase his ability to improvise while still maintaining the form and the power of jazz.

The show is based on “The Red Violin,” a film about a violin which brings tragedy to generations of performers and “The Red Shoes,” a film where a ballerina’s shoes desire to dance on their own, resulting in the death of the dancer.

The show will take place on Saturday, Feb. 10 at 8 p.m. at the Main, located at, 24266 Main Street.

Tickets are $20 and will be sold both at the door and online at the theatre’s website.

Doors open 30 minutes prior to the start of the show and seating will be on a first come first serve basis.
