The Valencia Jazz and Blues Concert Series is gearing up for its 15th annual event in Valencia starting Friday.

The free concert series, which features regional, national and international entertainers in a quaint street-party setting, offers interactive activities for adults and children.

The Tony Galla Band, featuring Sara Niemietz and Mark LeVang, will kick off the concert series when they hit the stage from 7-9:30 p.m. Friday.  

The events will take place in the street on Town Center Drive at McBean Parkway, adjacent to the Hyatt Regency Valencia.

“In addition to the extraordinary sounds offered from some of the top jazz and blues recording artists in the world, the scheduled series will bring a variety of interactive programming for the entire family, as well as a variety of food and beverages, including wine and beer for the adults,” according to Barbara Myler, the event’s owner-producer.

No pets or outside food or beverages are allowed.

The schedule of artists appearing is as follows:

June 20 – Lori Andrews JazHarp Quartet, a world famous jazz artist, who rocks out on the harp, has a long list of A-list performances, which include on-camera television and film credits.

June 27 – The Delgado Brothers is a Latin L.A. blues band that has been making music for more than 45 years.

July 4 – There will be no concert on July 4

July 11 – Jim Gibson performs blues, soul, funk and jazz, and has performed several times at the Jazz and Blues Festival.

July 18 – Tom Nolan Band performs soul, blues, rhythm and blues, jazz, they do it all, and bring people to their feet with a world class rhythm section, great vocals and an intense show that makes dancing irresistible, officials said.

July 25 – Doña Oxford is known as “The Boogie Woogie Woman” for her two-fisted piano playing. She’s fronting one of the hottest blues bands of the 21st century.
