Khanna Institute of LASIK breaks new technological ground in Santa Clarita.
While it may be hard to imagine life without vision, it is an obstacle we all face. While glasses have long been the temporary fix, new technology is actually making it possible for poor vision to be corrected on a more permanent basis. And as the years have proven, corrective eye surgery has become a safe alternative for people with a wide range of vision problems. As another bonus, the recovery is relatively quick.
And it’s no secret either. Many more people are turning to LASIK to help them see better, and Santa Clarita has seen the boom.
As a result, the Khanna Institute of LASIK and Refractive Surgery has opened an office in Valencia, next to City Hall.
“Patients have to drive 50 to 75 miles to come to our center,” said Dr. Rajesh Khanna, head of Khanna Institute. “Based on patients’ requests, we opened the first refractive center in the area. The people of Valencia deserve better.”

He has been fellowship trained, and is a member of the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive surgery. He also offers his expertise to students at UCLA.
According to Dr. Khanna, many people still have questions about LASIK. As for pain, Dr. Khanna says not to worry. “The procedure is virtually pain free. The most you may feel is some pressure,” he said.
And while the procedure has made great strides over the years, Dr. Khanna says that it is still important for you to pick an experienced surgeon. “The surgeon should be board certified and fellowship trained. He should use the most advanced technology and be involved in patient care. Experience is key. Make sure they’ve done at least 1,000 surgeries.”
