Assemblyman Cameron Smyth has a new constituent close to home. Kenley Caroline Smyth was born to Smyth and his wife, Lena, at 5:30 a.m. on July 10 at Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital. Mother and daughter are doing well and are expected to return home by the end of the week. She weighed 8 lbs. 5 oz.
Older brothers Gavin, 6, and Rowan, 4, are thrilled about their new baby sister.
According to Smyth’s spokesperson Jarrod DeGonia, Kenley is the first girl to be born in the Smyth family for a century. Caroline is a family name.

Smyth represents the 38th Assembly District, which includes the cities of Los Angeles, Santa Clarita, Simi Valley and Glendale. Prior to being elected to the state legislature, Assemblyman Smyth served on the Santa Clarita City Council from 2000-2006 and served two terms as Mayor.
