Recovery teams testing new products and processes that can aid in the event of a disaster.
AT&T will be doing some internal preparation Tuesday, as they test and display their ability to restore communications during a major disaster.
The Disaster Recovery network operates worldwide, and Tuesday’s exercise is designed to hone processes in the field that will be employed in the event of a disaster. Usually, the focus of AT&T during a major disaster would be to re-route all non-essential communications around the disaster area and to restore local communications as quickly as possible.
This comes less than a week after the “Great California Shakeout” which simulated a major earthquake in the state and prompted people to drop, cover and hold.
If a major earthquake were to strike, AT&T would likely be deploying their Disaster Recovery team to the affected areas including Santa Clarita.
