Thirteen-year-old girl thwarts kidnapper on Sierra Highway.

A quick-thinking 13-year old girl escaped a potential kidnapper as she was walking down Sierra Highway near Adon Avenue on her way home from school Thursday. The girl heard a man calling from a white van, offering her a ride, but she ignored him.

Further down the road, she saw the man had stopped the van and was standing outside. She started running toward her home, but the man pulled into a driveway in front of her, blocking her path. The girl ran into the office of the Travel Lodge, where she was given a safe ride home.

The suspect is described as a male Hispanic in his mid-30s. He was wearing a white T-shirt and blue pants. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Robbery/Assault Team at 255-1121.
