Auditions for Cabrillo Music Theatre’s “Happy Days: A New Musical” will be held on August 7, 8 and 9. “Happy Days: A New Musical” is based on the classic television series, with an entirely new book by the show’s creator, Garry Marshall, and a brand new score by Oscar-winner Paul Williams.
Featuring all of the popular characters from the series, Cabrillo’s production of “Happy Days: A New Musical” is one of the first regional productions, following a successful national tour. Performances are scheduled October 22-31 in the Kavli Theatre at the Bank of America Performing Arts Center, Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza. Rehearsals begin September 13 for non-Equity performers, and September 27 or October 4 for Equity performers.
The Equity call to audition for principal roles will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Madilyn Clark Studios, 10852 Burbank Blvd., North Hollywood. Non-Equity appointments for all roles (that will include dance calls) will be held from 10 a.m.-7 p.m. August 7 and from 1-9 p.m. August 8 at the Hillcrest Center for the Arts, 403 W. Hillcrest, Thousand Oaks.
The production is being produced by Cabrillo Music Theatre. The production team includes Susan Morgenstern, Director; Lloyd Cooper, Musical Director; John Charron, Choreographer; Barry Pearl, Associate Producer and Lewis Wilkenfeld, Artistic Director of Cabrillo Music Theatre.
All auditions and callbacks are by appointment only. Audition appointments will be taken beginning July 19. Bring picture and resume to audition. All roles are open and available to non-union performers. Actors’ Equity contracts are available for some roles. There is pay for all roles.
