City of Santa Clarita benefits from $6 million in sales tax revenue.
Auto dealers are celebrating a record year, with revenues exceeding $1 billion and generating $6 million in sales tax revenue for the city of Santa Clarita, announced the Santa Clarita Valley Auto Dealers Association.
Earlier in 2007, the city authorized a $60,000 grant to the association for promotion of the “Shop Local” campaign. Dealers contributed an additional $312,000 toward the effort, which paid off in a big way.
Several local charities and community-based groups benefited from the generosity of the auto dealer’s association in 2007, including the Michael Hoefflin Foundation, American Red Cross, Special Olympics, League of California cities, Saugus High School, SCV Community Center, the Open Space Initiative and the local chapter of the Jaycees.
In addition, the group supported the College of the Canyons automotive technology program, located on the campus of Saugus High School.
Participating dealers include Valencia Acura, Valencia BMW, Valencia Chevrolet, Valencia Chrysler/Jeep, Valencia Dodge, Valencia Honda, Lexus of Valencia, Power Ford, Valencia Nissan, Saturn of Santa Clarita, Frontier Toyota, Galpin Lincoln Mercury and Mercedes-Benz of Valencia.
