The Sand Canyon community, like much of Santa Clarita, is characterized by natural beauty and an active lifestyle. But, there are no protected pathways. Carl Goldman, with a KHTS Editorial.
Driving down the winding heavily traveled Sand Canyon road provides a challenging course to navigate. Young children on their way to the bus stop, bikers, joggers, walkers, along the narrow roadway become potential victims.
Riding a horse in what was once predominantly an equestrian community is impossible for fear of being struck by a passing car or truck. You can help by asking our City Council for favorable consideration in this year’s city budget to finish the canyon’s backbone trail that was started several years ago.
Completion of this trail system will provide for the safety of our children and allow us to enjoy a walk or jog through the natural beauty of the Canyon. Please support our trails before a tragic death makes it essential.
