Award Winning Artist Speaks To Locals

 Local art teacher Lorelle Miller is set to visit with Santa Clarita Artists' Association members

Members are invited to share one of their paintings during a constructive, lively group discussion and critique by art instructor Lorelle A Miller.

The Santa Clarita Artists' Association (SCAA) August 18, 2008 meeting at 7 p.m. will feature Lorelle A. Miller. Miller will discuss what she looks for as a criteria in evaluating the paintings of her students. Members are invited to share one of their paintings during a constructive lively group discussion.  Reviewing the basics, artists can enrich their art experience.
   

Miller has gained a genuinely favorable reputation giving art lessons at the Senior Center. An award winning artist since early childhood, she is graduate of CSU Northridge and has worked over 25 years in graphic arts while developing her skills as a fine artist. She presently works as a fulltime fine artist and is also an Art Instructor for College of the Canyons, continuing education department. She is a member of SCAA for almost 20 years and Chairman of the Arts Advisory Board for the City of Santa Clarita. She is accomplished in portraits, oil painting, pastels, street painting and sculpture. Click here to see her work.

 

Miller's work has been on display at several local galleries and various festivals throughout California and Florida. She is a member of the Oil Painters of America, the California Art Club and the Santa Clarita Artists Association. She has won numerous awards throughout her career. Her work has been featured in L.A. Times, as well as other newspapers, magazines and videos. Her paintings from the series entitled "Hope & Loss" have traveled throughout the United States. She was also selected to create public art pieces by the City of Santa Clarita in 2002, 2003 and 2004.

 

[view:node_ad=5]These monthly meetings of the Santa Clarita Artists' Association are held at the Westfield Town Center Community Room, between JC Penny and the Food Court; and are informative and inspirational. Non-members are also welcomed and may attend their first meeting for free.
