Bands Of America Competition Set Saturday At COC

If you’re hearing the sounds of a marching band wafting in the wind today, it’s probably competitors from the Bands of America Championships being held at College of the Canyons.

More than 30 high school marching bands from California, Texas, Nevada and Arizona are pitched against each other, note for note, flag for flag, hoping to be the winners of the championship to be awarded at the end of the evening.

The competition starts at 10 a.m. and goes into the night with the finale set for 10:30 p.m. Local bands competing are those from Canyon Valencia and West Ranch High Schools.

For information on the event, visit the host organization’s website at musicforall.org.
