College of the Canyons is hosting its biannual Job & Career Fair on the Valencia Campus where students and the general public are invited to network with various companies looking to fill a wide range of positions.
“Our goal is that 100 employers will come out ready to hire some folks anywhere from entry level to advanced jobs ranging from a variety of industries,” said Gina Bogna, Assistant Dean of Internships, Development, and Career Center at College of the Canyons.

The Job Fair will be held on Oct. 14, 2015 from 10 am to 2 pm and free parking will be available for the community, as well as computers that will be accessible to upload resumes.
“Students and the general public should be looking at our website to prepare. This event is free for all job seekers. It is important to come with a resume in hand and prepared to engage with an employer and fill out applications. ,” said Bogna. “We provide students with workshops called Quick Start Resume Workshops, and Resume Rallies a week before the event.
The Career Center will work with students and job seekers to format their resume appropriately and provide feedback on content.

Apart from providing extra assistance to COC students and the general public, College of the Canyons will have a series of workshops from the top employers of Santa Clarita.
“We are going to showcase four of the biggest employers throughout the event and host a series of workshops. Magic Mountain, Princess Cruises, the City of Santa Clarita, and Boston Scientific each will offer a forty-five minute workshop where people can speak to employers to learn about the companies culture and what they are looking for in their new hires,” said Bogna.
KHTS AM 1220 will also be partnering up with College of the Canyons and feature an online Virtual Job Fair for employers who are unable to attend the event. Staff will be available to navigate the virtual job fair.
