[view:node_ad=5]The CHP has reported the arrest of two men in connection with transporting 20 pounds of marijuana through the Santa Clarita Valley.
The incident began on December 9th, when an off duty CHP officer was approached at an unknown local restaurant by a man named Marcel Onate. He informed the officer that he had a large amount of marijuana for sale, and even provided him with a small amount as a testament to his legitimacy.
The off duty officer then reported the incident to the CHP’s Southern Division Investigative Services, who jumped into action. After identifying Onate, they found him leaving a local hotel with several large duffle bags in his hand. This time he was joined by an accomplice, identified as Michael Malisos.
The CHP decided to make their move while following the vehicle, at which point they conducted a traffic stop at the corner of Lyons Avenue and Orchard Village Rd Wednesday Afternoon.
With cooperation from local Sheriff’s officials, the two men were arrested and charged at the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station. They were arrested for the transportation and possession of marijuana for sale.
