Bob and Margo Hudson, Cary and Kirsten Quashen and Fred and Kristen Arnold will be recognized for their contributions to this valley at the Hyatt Regency in Valencia on Saturday, September 28 at 6 p.m.
The honorees were selected by a 12-member committee, and District Executive Ransom Boynton said that they were looking to honor local community leaders who uphold the Scout Oath and law in their daily business and personal practices.
Arif Halaby, CEO of Total Financial Solutions in Newhall, started the event in 2006 when he was approached by a local Boy Scout troop that needed to raise money to buy equipment.
The fundraiser has since developed into an opportunity to honor individuals and “organizations that enrich the lives of youth,” Boynton said.
Halaby also said that many community events recognized only the husband and that wives were “not getting the acknowledgement they deserve” for their contributions.
The Leaders of Character dinner will recognize both the husband and wife.
For sponsorship and ticket information contact Boynton at 661-284-6330 or rboynton@bsa-la.org.
