Parents who want to hit the Black Friday after-Thanksgiving sales without the kids, or just take it easy after the busy Thanksgiving holiday can bring them to Ekata Martial Arts in Valencia.
On November 25, Ekata Martial Arts is offering non-students the chance to train like a Jedi with martial arts professionals. The cost is just $10 and all proceeds will benefit the Santa Clarita Valley Food Pantry.

“We are committed to working with nonprofit organizations in our community,” says Sifu Edward Monaghan, owner of Ekata. “All of the money raised during this special event will directly benefit residents in Santa Clarita. We are excited to provide a fun opportunity for kids, while providing a tangible way to make a difference in our community.”
Participants also will receive two free weeks of classes at Ekata. Parents can feel confident that their children are safe and having a great time — while Mom and Dad get the chance run errands, shop or just relax after the holiday.
All participants are welcome to wear their favorite Jedi costumes. Please be sure to bring your own light saber! All children, ages 6 and older, are welcome. Two sessions will be offered: 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., or 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Reservations are required and space is limited. For more information or reservations, 661/255-1114 or email: ekatamartialarts@gmail.com
