The Victoria Highlanders from Canada definitely felt the “Heat” last night as the Santa Clarita Blue Heat defeated them with a final score of 2 to 1.
May 22, was the opening game for the Santa Clarita Blue Heat at Valencia High School.
The air was cool with a slight breeze and the stands were filled with 750 cheering fans. The chilly night air was all but forgotten when Hannah Beard had a breakaway run in the 7th minute scoring the first goal of the game for the Blue Heat. The crowd erupted with stomping and hollering.

The Victoria Highlanders who travelled all the way from Canada, put ball to net when Ashley Porter kicked it in before the first half was completed.
After a half time pep talk by Blue Heat Coach Fabian Sandoval, second half sub Liz Franco scored a beautiful goal with an assist by forward Marky Boyce in the 89th minute.
The exciting game concluded with the Santa Clarita Blue Heat victorious over Victoria Highlanders.
