Board Accepts Grant To Improve County Terrorism Preparedness

Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich announced that the Board of Supervisors accepted early $25 million in grant funds from the Department of Homeland Security for terrorism preparedness.

“These funds will enhance the County’s capacity to respond to incidents of terrorism, particularly those involving chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, and explosive incidents, as well as natural disasters,” said Antonovich.

Approximately $11 million will be distributed to the County’s District Attorney, Health Services, Mental Health, Sheriff, Personnel, Public Works, Office of Public Safety, Fire Department, and Coroner.  The County will allocate $14 million to cities.
