Bob Kellar Re-Election Campaign Kicked Off

Fundraiser brings supporters to jump start run for next term.

ImageAt the home of Carl and Jeri Goldman, friends and supporters showed up to kick off Mayor Pro Tem Bob Kellar’s re-election campaign.

Kellar has been in office since 2000, and has already been re-elected once before. He is a former LAPD Sergeant, and has been an active member of Santa Clarita for nearly thirty years. He currently works as a realtor, although most of the time, the Council proves to be a full time job in itself.

Most recently, Kellar was noted as one of the staunchest proponents of bringing in Armando Garcia, the man who killed SCV resident Deputy David March. After years of continuing to work for justice, Garcia was finally transferred to US soil where he pleaded guilty to the crime.

Kellar has also fought the Cemex and Whittaker-Bermite battles for many years, and has achieved many other hard fought accomplishments.

During this race, there are two seats up for grabs. One is Kellar’s, the other is open, formerly belonging to Cameron Smyth.

So far, Bob Spierer and Maria Gutzeit have also made clear their intentions to run.
