The bodies of a man and woman have been found in a house in the Happy Valley section of Newhall.

Lt. Tom Bryski of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station said the victims were found by their landlord Monday at about 4:30 p.m., inside their rented room at 24227 Heritage Lane, at the corner of Maple Street.

Property records list the landlord as Leonard E. Miller. He bought the house in October 2007.

Homicide detectives are on scene and have not released any information.

The victims were pronounced dead at the scene. A Sheriff’s Department press statement shortly after midnight Tuesday said the cause of death will be determined after the completion of an autopsy. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Homicide Bureau at 323-890-5500.
