Homicide investigators still have a lot of questions in the case of a body found smoldering in an Agua Dulce dumpster Wednesday morning.
According to Lt. Eddie Hernandez of the Sheriff’s Homicide buearu, an employee of Waste Management saw smoke coming from a dumpster that belonged to the company and looked in to investigate. When he saw what he thought might be human remains, he called the fire and sheriff’s departments, who responded immediately.

The fire department determined that the body was indeed human and pronounced him dead. Hernandez said that all they really know about the victim is that he is an adult male of unknown ethnicity.
Hernandez said the location given for the dumpster was mile market 31.89 on Sierra Highway in Agua Dulce. He did not know if it was in the parking lot of any particular business.
Coroner’s officials took the body to the morgue for autopsy and identification. Hernandez said that the man’s identity was not known and an immediate cause of death was not apparent. The autopsy is scheduled for Thursday.
