Traffic along McBean Parkway was disrupted for nearly two hours this afternoon as L.A. County Bomb Squad officers examined and destroyed a suspicious package found at McDonald’s on McBean at Creekside Road.

Sgt. Dan Peacock of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s station said that deputies responded to the call at approximately 1:20 p.m. and found a device at the fast food restaurant that looked “real enough” for them to call in the Arson and Explosives squad.

Streets in the area were closed as a precaution and the incident was cleared by 3:30 p.m. There were no injuries or damages reported as a result of the package’s discovery.
