Bouquet Canyon Construction Frustrates Drivers

Nightmarish traffic around road construction near Vasquez Canyon.

ImageMany listeners have been calling in and reporting substantial delays on Bouquet Canyon Road near Vasquez Canyon Road.

This is the result of a Los Angeles County Department of Public Works project that is working to widen and improve the road.

The city of Santa Clarita is not doing this work.

According to Gary Boze’, a spokesperson for LA County Public Works, in order to keep the road open, workers have been working on one lane at a time, and using two flag men to hold up traffic, therefore letting a flow of cars pass one direction at a time.

“This is the only way we could avoid shutting down the road,” said Boze’.

The good news is that the one lane flag system will be gone within 3 weeks.

The entire project is scheduled to complete in July.
