‘Tis the season for giving. This time around, you can get a lot just by giving a little.

The Santa Clarita Book Exchange, in association with Valencia Lanes, is hosting “Bowling for Kids,” a charity fundraising event to benefit Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. On Sunday, Dec. 9, you can enjoy two hours of unlimited bowling, plus shoe rental, for $15. All proceeds will be donated to Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.

Bowling for Kids will also feature a silent auction, a raffle and a Toys-for-Tots collection.

“I’ve been very blessed in my life and I just want to give back,” said event organizer and West Ranch High School graduate Taylor Kellstrom.

The 22-year-old Santa Clarita Book Exchange manager said he was a Children’s Hospital patient when he was 9 years old.

Kellstom said he slipped into a coma after he hit his head while racing his motorcycle in a motocross race in Palmdale and was airlifted to Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.

“This is the time of year for giving and this year I’m in a position to help out,” he said.

Bowling for Kids will take place from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Dec. 9 at Valencia Lanes, located at 23700 Lyons Avenue.

Raffle items have been donated by SCV Book Exchange, Tee plus, Stevenson Ranch Car Wash, Jersey Mikes, Summers Indoor Tanning, Stevenson Donut Bakery, Hemingway Dry Cleaning, Locally Unknown, subECHO Records and Matrix Concepts.

Donations are still being accepted for the raffle and silent auction. For more information, contact Taylor at 661-714-8915 or tayloykellstrom271@hotmail.com.
