Students collect enough to fill Food Pantry donation bin.
Bowman High School’s student government (ASB) took its message of community service into every classroom during the month of December, collecting a truckload of food to bolster the holiday supplies of the Santa Clarita Valley Food Pantry.
Students and staff from the whole school gathered food and filled six crates with their donations, which filled the Food Pantry’s drop-off box for the evening. ASB students went class to class reminding students to help by donating a can or two of food, and most donated much more.
Bowman student Devin Austin expressed the spirit of the campaign: “It’s not easy to go to bed hungry, and since I can help, why wouldn’t I?”
