Former Canyon Country resident Brandon Zucker, who was
critically injured in 2000 when he was trapped under the Roger Rabbit’s Cartoon
Spin ride in Disneyland, died this morning from undetermined causes.

Zucker, who was 4 years old when the accident occurred, was
found unresponsive in the family’s Anaheim
home on Sunday morning. He was taken to St. Joseph’s
Hospital in Orange, then
transferred to Childrens Hospital,
Orange County,
where he died at 1:13 a.m.

An autopsy conducted today was inconclusive as to the cause
of death.

The 4-year-old Zucker was riding in the car with his mother,
Victoria, when he leaned down to pick up an item and was swept under the car,
where he remained trapped for 10 minutes. He suffered brain damage and has not
been able to walk or talk since the accident.

The Zucker family settled a lawsuit with The Walt Disney
Company in 2002 for an undisclosed amount to provide for Brandon’s
continuing health care and living expenses. The family moved to Orange
County to be closer to his doctors
and rehabilitation facility.
