Boy Scout Drake Hougo Presents Project For Fitness Zone In Central Park

drakeFor his Eagle Leadership Service Project, 12-year-old Drake Hougo, Life Scout and member of Boy Scout Troop 2222, has begun his project to fundraise and install a Fitness Zone at the Santa Clarita Central Park.

The objective of the Fitness Zone is to promote healthy living by encouraging the community to become more active. The Zone would consist of 12 pieces of outdoor fitness equipment for the public to use and is intended to promote and encourage people to live a healthy and active life style.

Hougo worked with the City of Santa Clarita Park Development Administrator, Tom Reilly and later presented their idea for a Fitness Zone to the Parks and Recreation Department of the City of Santa Clarita who were supportive of Hougo’s idea.
