BREAKING NEWS: 3-4 Acre Fire North I-5 At Smokey Bear Road

The spot fire burning at Northbound I-5 just south of Highway 138, near Smokey Bear Road was limited to nine acres and was knocked down by 1 p.m.

Los Angeles County Fire Fighters are reporting a 3-4 acre spot fire at North bound I-5 at Smokey Bear Road.

The fire is reportedly moving uphill with light winds.

Two SuperScoopers are being dispatched to Quail Lake to scoop out water to drop on the flames. Four helicopters are also assisting.

Fire personnel from eight stations are being sent to the 1st alarm fire.

When asked if this is a normal response to this size of fire, a Fire Inspector said, “We send the world, then we can always back off.”
