A magnitude 5.4 earthquake shook the studios at KHTS at 4:53 this afternoon.
The quake was centered in Borrego Springs, which is between Escondido and San Diego.
The U.S. Geological Survey is reporting that the epicenter was seven miles beneath the surface.

A check of the critical facilities by patrol deputies found no damage, according to Lt. Tom Bryski of the Santa Clarita Valley station.
The quake was initially reported to be a magnitude 5.9, but was downgraded to 5.4 within 10 minutes.
