The CHP, Los Angeles County Fire Department and Cal Trans worked to clear everything up, re-opening all the lanes by 3:00 p.m.
KHTS suggested using the Highway 14 North and The Old Road as alternate routes.
The I-5 South was also backed up to Highway 126 due to passengers slowing down to view the accident.
A Toyota Corolla was completely destroyed in the accident. The driver, reportedly a male in his 60s, was cut out of the vehicle and transported to Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital.
Bill McBee was driving close to the accident when it occured. According to McBee, a semi was driving significantly above the speed limit while trying to pass another semi on the left. The two trucks collided, after which the first smashed into the Corolla. The Corolla then rolled over at least two times. The first truck then crashed into another passenger vehicle before rolling down the embankment.
There were two other injuries, both minor.
