BREAKING NEWS: UPDATED – Magnitude 3.3 Earthquake, Not 4.2 In Santa Clarita

Cal Tech has amended their assessment and is now reporting the earthquake magnitude at 3.3.

Officials said this morning’s earthquake was an aftershock to the magnitude-4.3 Newhall earthquake on September 1.

United States Geological Services is reporting a magnitude 3.3 earthquake at 11:23 a.m.

Homeowners in Canyon Country reported a sharp jolt. Neighbors gathered in the streets to confirm with each other what they’d felt.

USGS maps show the location of the earthquake as north of Vasquez Canyon Road between Sierra Highway and Bouquet Canyon Road.
