Michael Barela, 54, was arrested on an attempted murder charge after the alleged stabbing.

Deputies received a report of a stabbing around 9:12 p.m. in the 25800 block of Tournament Road, according to Lt. Moulder of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

“There was a stabbing and deputies are still out there investigating,” he said.

A witness close to the scene described a man with a knife walking around the restaurant and another man reportedly covered in blood.

Deputies responded to an assault with a deadly weapon call, where a male was attempting to stab numerous people with a knife. Deputies arrived and immediately detained the suspect.

Deputies arrested Barela and identified one victim, who was transported to the hospital by Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel.

He’s being held in lieu of $1 million bail.

The male victim had been stabbed numerous times in the upper body. The extent of the victim’s injuries is not known at this time.
