On Saturday, May 5 at around 8:45 p.m., a 33-year-old Canyon Country man crashed his motorcycle into another vehicle at 40th and F Streets in San Bernardino.

The 33-year-old motorcyclist was heading north on 40th Street on a 1998 Honda GR8 motorcycle at a “high rate of speed,” according to a CHP statement, when the driver of a Chevrolet pickup truck, after stopping at a stop sign, pulled into the intersection.

“The motorcyclist could not avoid the collision,” said the CHP statement. “He was transported to a local area hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.”

CHP officials are not yet releasing the name of the individual who died because the incident is still an ongoing investigation.

Authorities ask anyone with information on the crash to call the San Bernardino CHP Office at 909-383-4247.

  1. How horrible for the driver of the pickup, probably had no clue how fast the mc was doing. Probably figured he had ample time to clear the I/S but because the mc was traveling at a high rate of speed they collided.

  2. Or the truck didn’t even see the motorcycle, as a rider myself, that seems more likely. PLEASE LOOK CLOSELY FOR MOTORCYCLES!!! .

  3. the article says the pick up stopped at the stop sign, then entered the intersection. It was the bike that was not looking out for cars. The bike was driving at a high speed and couldn’t stop..

I love bikes, but not when they are ridden by riders who are inconsiderate. It’s definitely harder to see bikers, but when they are not following the law (stopping at stop signs, speeding)..it’s them putting themselves at risk greater than if they were following rules of the road.

  4. It’s very sad I drove right passed the accident JUST right after the crash and seen this poor man lying next to his mangled bike unconscious and tons of witnesses out with a look on each and everyone of those faces that cannot be describe! I may have been like one of two other vehicles passing and knew instantly, he’s gone and prayed for the young man and his family! To loose a family memeber is something no one can imagine and my heart weighed so heavily! Please take every moment in life and the loved ones who surround you in it and cherish them! It can be just that fast they aren’t here with you! God bless ???????????????????????? And a huge sorry for your loss ????????

    • Thank you, this man was my brother-in-law, more of a brother. He did pass and we have started a go fund me on FB for his memorial and cremation. He left behind his mother, brother and 4 year old daughter. He was funny and always the life of the party and will always be loved.

    • I am the mom of the rider. Thank you for your thoughts.
