Coroner IDs Valencia Couple In Stevenson Ranch Murder Suicide

A coroner identified a Valencia man and woman who were apparently a couple in a Stevenson Ranch murder-suicide Sunday.

 Coroner’s officials identified the victims in a Stevenson Ranch murder-suicide Sunday, officials said.

Ismael Herbe Castro, 56, of Valencia, reportedly shot Lisa Marie Gastelum, 51, of Valencia, and then himself, near the intersection of Pico Canyon Road and The Old Road around before 8 p.m. Sunday.

Lt. Fred Corral of the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office said the deaths were reported to officials as a husband and wife.

The shooting occurred near a FedEx store in Stevenson Ranch.

 Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station deputies responded to a report of two gunshot victims around 7:53 p.m., outside a FedEx store on The Old Road and Pico Canyon Road.

Los Angeles County Fire Department officials determined two victims were dead upon medical personnel arriving shortly before 9 p.m.

Fire officials said the victims were found near the intersection with gunshot wounds.

Deputies confirmed shortly after the shooting that there was no suspect, and a gun believed to be the murder weapon was recovered at the scene.
