At approximately 1 p.m., the fire was about 8 acres in size, but is quickly spreading toward the ridgeline, according to Lozano.
Vista Del Lago is just north of the Santa Clarita Valley, but traffic on the northbound side of the freeway is being heavily delayed for at least four miles, according to CHP officials.
A Sig Alert was issued around 12:19 p.m., notifying commuters that the two right lanes in the area had been closed while first responders handle the blaze.
