The suspect then got out, stabbed the victim several times in the chest with the knife and attempted to flee the scene in the vehicle.

He crashed into a nearby fence and proceeded to flee on foot, according to the news release.

The victim, whose identity is not being released at this time, was transported to Antelope Valley Hospital and remains in critical condition.

The suspect was still outstanding Saturday morning.

Detectives are conducting an ongoing investigation, and have not yet determined if there was any relationship between the suspect and the victim, Sheriff’s Station officials said.
