Lancaster Sheriff’s Station deputies are searching for a man suspected of committing carjacking, kidnapping and attempted murder Friday night, authorities said.
The suspect, an adult black male, allegedly kidnapped the male victim and stole his vehicle at knifepoint at approximately 10:48 p.m. at the Chevron Station located on 4th Street in Lancaster, according to a Sheriff’s Station news release.

After driving a short distance, the victim was able to exit the vehicle near Avenue K and the suspect struck him with the vehicle.
The suspect then got out, stabbed the victim several times in the chest with the knife and attempted to flee the scene in the vehicle.
He crashed into a nearby fence and proceeded to flee on foot, according to the news release.
The victim, whose identity is not being released at this time, was transported to Antelope Valley Hospital and remains in critical condition.
The suspect was still outstanding Saturday morning.
Detectives are conducting an ongoing investigation, and have not yet determined if there was any relationship between the suspect and the victim, Sheriff’s Station officials said.
