A vegetation fire broke out in the Angeles Forest Saturday after children who were playing nearby reportedly lit a fire in a tree stump, fire officials said.

The fire was reported at 3:30 p.m. at the 32000 block of San Francisquito Canyon Road near Dry Gulch Road and covered a 20- by 30-foot spot, said Nathan Judy, an Angeles National Forest Service fire information officer.
Forest Service and Los Angeles County Fire personnel responded to the scene, and it was declared knocked down at 3:45 p.m.
There were no reported injuries and no structures were damaged in the blaze.
