The blaze, called the Whites Fire, was reported in medium brush at approximately 11:30 a.m., said Los Angeles County Fire Department Inspector Randall Wright.
Units were dispatched in a first-alarm response at 11:29 a.m. and arrived on scene five minutes later. Four helicopters were dispatched as well, Wright said.
By 11:55 p.m., forward spread of the fire was stopped and three helicopters were released from the scene, according to a LACoFD tweet.
Crews were working on mopping up hot spots shortly after 12 p.m. and were expected to remain at the scene for the next few hours, Wright said.
No structures were threatened during the blaze, and no injuries were reported.

You need to edit this article. I would think it should read “By 11:55 AM”, not pm.
Any cause, or was it spontaneous combustion? Just curious, it took 5 minutes for the Fire Department to drive maybe 100 yards, and that is being generous. The Fire Station is almost across the street.
