A girl died at a local hospital after she was found unconscious Friday afternoon at Six Flags Magic Mountain, officials said.

The cause of death for the girl, age 10, is not being released at this time pending a medical examination, according to Coroner’s Office officials.
“We were deeply saddened to learn that Jasmine Martinez, who was transported to the hospital after riding Revolution on June 12, has died,” according to a statement from Six Flags officials. “Our thoughts and prayers are with Jasmine’s family and friends during this difficult time.”
Fire Department officials responded to a report of a girl being found unconscious at Six Flags Magic Mountain.
“Late (Friday afternoon), a 10-year-old female guest returned to the Revolution station after riding and was found breathing but unconscious,” Six Flags Magic Mountain officials said in a statement.
“There is no evidence to suggest that this was, in any way, ride-related. We do not know if there was a pre-existing condition,” the statement continued. “On the day of the incident, the state determined it was unrelated to the operation of the ride and it was re-opened. With the latest development, following state guidelines, the ride has been temporarily closed pending a review.”
Fire officials received the call at 4:09 p.m., arrived at the park at 4:17 p.m., and had the patient en route to the local hospital at 4:45 p.m., according to Inspector Flores of the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
The girl’s death was reported to the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office at 4:58 p.m., according to Lt. Fred Corral of the Coroner’s Office.
More than 45 million guests have safely ridden Revolution since it opened in 1976, according to park officials.

I am praying for the family at this difficult time. I worked in Cardiology for 25 years and saw this more than i cared to. It could have been Sudden Cardiac Death. I’m no doctor but we saw things like that often. I feel their loss and will continue to pray for them.
