An investigation is underway into a dead body that was found with a possible gunshot wound in the Canyon Country area on Thursday.

The unidentified Hispanic man was discovered at mile maker 7.98 of Sand Canyon Road and was pronounced dead at 10:50 a.m., said Captain John Kades with the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office.
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide detectives were called out to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death.
When investigators arrived, they found the victim who had what appeared to be a gunshot wound, according to a news release issued by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
The circumstances surrounding the gunshot wound is unknown at this time.
