Golden Valley High School graduate Rayna Ramirez, 17, of Canyon Country, was reported missing by her family on Wednesday, June 17, detectives said.

“She’s reported missing and we don’t know where she is. We want someone to contact us with where she is,” said Lt. Brenda Cambra with the SCV Sheriff’s Station. “We want to be able to locate her so we know she’s okay. She is supposed to be in the care of her parents and hopefully we can reunite her with her parents.”

Ramirez’ family reported that she was last seen with her boyfriend of about two years, Mission Charter student, Martin Ramos, 17, in a black Ford Crown Victoria at her home June 17.

Ramos’ mother, Jennifer Ramos, said her son had come home late that night and left the next morning.

“I thought he went to work. They called me together and were chit-chatting like they were hanging out, like nothing was wrong,” Jennifer Ramos said. “That night, the Sheriff’s came to my door.”

SCV Sheriff’s Station detectives have been continuing to investigate the case, interviewing both families.

Ramos’ family last heard from him the weekend of June 20 and 21, Jennifer Ramos said.

“My son said they’re safe and running away,” Jennifer Ramos said. “These are two kids  — stupid, dumb and in love  — and they think they can take the world.”

A missing person report has not been filed for Martin Ramos and Ramirez has not been in contact with her family as of Friday, officials said.

“I just want my daughter back home. When she turns 18, if she chooses, she can leave,” said Carmen Nehme, Ramirez’ mother. “I want to know if my daughter is safe and okay. I want her to tell me the truth about what’s going on.”
