Santa Clarita Man Arrested After Using Dog To Attack Family Members

A Santa Clarita man was arrested Saturday after allegedly “using” his dog to attack his mother and brother during an argument, authorities said.

The suspect, a 24-year-old white male, was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon around 2 p.m., said Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station Watch Commander Rob Hahnlein.

The suspect was seen walking with the dog and an unidentified woman in a Santa Clarita wash behind a McDonald’s and was taken into custody shortly afterward, officials said.

The dog was obtained by Los Angeles County Animal Control officers.

An investigation by Sheriff’s Station deputies was underway Saturday afternoon.
